Welcome New Followers

minialev    has been making the most yummy looking cakes lately. She also makes beautiful plants and flowers.   I’m going to take some time soon to take better look at her tutorials.

Maria at    Pretty Things Ireland    recently made some very cute bird houses, I really like the feathers. She also just showed a pretty room that she put together. I think the little pillows are very nice.   I’ve been collecting fabric in red, white and black with the plans to make pillows.

Sharon Larkin  doesn’t seem to have a blog.

Sharon, Come join us, the waters really nice here.   I’ve made many good friends in a very short time.

Maria,  I've been trying to leave comments on your blog but I keep getting disconnected,  I will try again.

PIF Swap Gifts

Drora   received the gifts that I sent for the PIF Swap and has posted some pictures on her blog.

Rachel  has not received hers yet,  some of what I sent was the same and some was different.

Rachel if you don't want to spoil the surprise you should not read any further.

Everyone else scan down to see.

Here is  what the packages looked like before I stuffed them into 2 envelopes.  The ones on the left are Drora's, the right Rachel's.

When I read on Drora's blog that she was putting together a sewing room I knew that I had to share some bits of fabric that I had got just a few days before.  I store my fat quarters of fabric in plastic baskets, so I made a couple for her.

I  made the plate from polymer clay, the candles from birthday cake candles, I picked brown and gold colored stones from a pack that I bought at Walmart.  (sorting again)  I also think it would also look nice with a few of Drora's lovely shells that she has shared with so many of us.

I also made some clay stamps and formers out of polymer clay and included some other things that I like to use as tools with clay.    Drora has some lovely teapots that she made with polymer clay and beads.  She also made really nice scissors for her sewing room.

And I made some food,  some cut green beans in zip lock bag,  2 baked potatoes and some pats of butter.   The bags are 1" x 1" equal to 1 gallon freezer bags in mini.

I left everything loose, so that they can be used  differently if wanted.

Then I gathered some bits and pieces.

Some metal findings,  I can't wait to see how Drora uses these.   I know that she will find uses for some of them in the smaller scales that she sometimes works in.

Some beads, mostly porcelain,  one blown glass and a few glittery plastic.  I think that they all make good vases in different scales but could be used many ways.

And some other bits and pieces that I have collected that I think work in 1/12 th scale.  I
think that the  glittery flat bottomed marble makes a good  paperweight  and the green bead makes a good bar of soap.

I also included some small zip close bags, some small elastics and some white ribbon pieces.  I use lots of small  bags to try to organize all the bits and pieces that I collect.   The small elastics are great for holding things together while glue dries and have many other uses.   Jaynie is wearing a bright orange one doubled over as a bracelet, she wants more summer jewelery,  maybe soon.

Drora,   I'm glad that you liked your gifts,  I enjoyed making and gathering them to share with you.

I still have 3 opening in my PIF Swap,  if you would like me to send a special gift to you click here
and follow the rules.

I'm Melting

It is so very hot and steamy today,  it's 101 degrees and feels like 110.   I'm moving as little as possible and drinking lots and lots of iced water.     I even gave the cat iced water.   He keeps yowling at me,  I know he is saying "please turn the heat down".    Tomorrow is forecasted to be a bit cooler but not much.   Sunday is supposed to be better at 85 and much drier, right now that sounds so cool.

I hope that you are staying cool.

Fabric Rugs

Do you use upholstery fabric as rugs?   I have four now that I think make pretty good rugs.

I’ve had the brown striped and the green plaid-ish ones for quite a while.  I bought the other two from the clearance rack at Joann fabrics a few weeks ago.  The blue one is the thickest, like a plush carpet and the one with the square pattern is the thinnest.   What do you think,  do they make good rugs?

I'm still running a little slow,  I hope to get more made to show you soon.

I've finished the  PIF Swap gifts  for  Drora  and  Rachel,  I just have to finish packing them up and they should be off in the mail tomorrow.   I'll show you pictures after they recieve them.

I've Been a Bad Blogger

I’m sorry that I have not posted for a while, time seemed to  just fly by.  I have not felt at my best the last few weeks and did not get much of anything done.  I’m a bit behind on all of my household cleaning chores, I really need to get quite a bit of laundry done.  I’m feeling better now, so I’m trying to get everything caught up.

I’m working on finishing and getting out PIF swap gifts for Rachel and Drora.  Thank you for being so patient,  I’m sorry that it is taking me so long,  I hope that you will think that your gifts are worth the wait when you get them.   I'll show you pictures after they have been recieved,  I want Drora and Rachel to be the first to see them.

I'm also trying to get all my miniature supplies organized.   I have bits and pieces all over the place right now and I do most projects at the kitchen table.  I'm tring to get some things moved around to find some space to use as work and storage space.   Wish me luck, it is not an easy task.   Hopefully if I can get this done I'll be able to complete more projects and work on more of the ideas that I have.
