Sorting Again

I told you before that I like to buy mixes of things and sort them. I bought the  Boss' Bead Bag  at  Fire Mountain Gems and Beads .     It’s a 1 pound bag of beads and things, I love them, you get something different every time. I figured I would show you what I got today.

This is how I sort in a plastic deviled egg tray from the dollar store.

Here are the larger pieces, some wood, a few plastic, some stone and one glass.  There were not any really big beads in this mix and not that many large ones.

Some more wood beads, some pretty small.

 Some small wooden shapes.

Glass beads, I see lots of jars and vases.

More glass

And some small glass beads.

A few stones and glass  beads that I found interesting.

Here are the larger metal pieces.

And more metal, I see frames, small bowls and purse parts.  The details in the piece to the left of the dime doesn't show well in the picture, it is very detailed and an interesting shape.  What does it look like to you?  I see maybe a small witches hat (it was too small on Jaynie) or maybe a fairy's dress.

Some metal and metallic balls,  different sizes and colors.

And lots of small  metal findings.

There were also a few plastic beads and some stone nuggets.  I think this was a very nice mix.

I hope you like seeing all the bits and pieces, I enjoy seeing all the little things others have found.

They're Really Mine

I received my PIF Swap gifts from   Kathi   a few days ago.   Pictures do not do them justice.   They are so beautiful, I can’t stop looking at them.

Here's a closer look at the pond, look at all the details.  Cute little fishies, sly kitty, tiny turtle, lilypads, waterlilies, glittery stones, clear water, mossy stone wall.  Did I miss anything?  I bet I did.

I tried my hand at setting up a quick and simple scene. It took me a little over an hour to get things set up and take a few pictures.

Thanks again Kathi, these gifts will be cherished, I love them.

Gifts, Chairs and a Hutch, Oh My

I received my first mini gifts.

Thank you much  Drora  .   They are so cute and well made. I feel very special to have these minis all the way from Israel.

Jaynie really likes the bag,
she says it is just perfect and
 sends her thanks also.

Casey    has been making ¼” scale couches and chairs.  It reminded me of an idea that I drawn out a while ago.  The general idea came from a printie of  a chair that was part of Santa’s house. (I don’t remember from where)

I redrew the pattern in 1/2" scale on 1/4" graph paper.

Then I changed it to make it from a single piece

Then I shrunk it to 50%

I cut it from a green index card,  folded and  glued.
This is what I got, one with and one without the wings.

They are not very well done but just give an idea of how they come out.

I'm still woking on the hutch,  I found paper for the backing, it is not what I was looking for but once I saw it I liked it.    Now I’m thinking of trying a reddish brown like the one in the paper for the counter top shelf,

I welcome comments, please let me know what you think.

Welcome Followers

I've been being so lax in welcoming new followers, please forgive me.

Rachel   makes lovely mini hats and corsets and also does great tiny needlework.

Rachel is also one of my PIF swap partners.   I'm working on your gift, it's taking longer than it should but I keep coming up with new ideas.   Rachel,  please email me your address so that I can get it out to you as soon as I finish it.

Kathi  just made the most amazing gifts for the PIF swap and I'm so so very lucky to be getting one.  Go take a look over at her blog, Beautiful Mini Bessings, you need to see it to believe it.

Thank you to all,  I'm so lucky to have 6 wonderful followers.

Interesting

I thought that I would share a few things that I have found interesting lately.   I hope that you find them interesting also.

First are Pill Pockets    These have made our lives so much easier.   Our cat has been very difficult to get medicine into.  We had tried everything, liquid, pills, mixing with food, hiding in soft treats and nothing worked.

The last time we were at the vets they gave us these pill pockets, they are very soft, tube shaped treats that you put pills or capsules into. Our cat loves them, he just gobbles them up. They are very easy to use, they feel like very soft clay.

Second is   http://incompetech.com/graphpaper/  ,  it’s a free site that allows you to create and print your own graph papers. You can make lots of custom graphs. I like to make and use some with 8 and some with 12 squares per inch.   I’ve also used the hexagonal and polar to help plan and draw out ideas and projects.

Third is a posting on a craft forum of polymer clay creations,  miniature designer handbags at   http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=380869.0    I just think these are so cute and so well done, I thought that you might like seeing them also.
