A few little accessories

I've put together a few accessories for Jaynie.

This basket was easy to make following the tutorial   from   The little blue room .

I just put this together quickly to see if the shape was really as easy to get as it showed, it was.

The tutorial was not made as a mini item so a few adjustments had to be made, but that was not difficult.  I used a 3 x 3" piece of  card stock.   The basket (not counting the handles) came out  to about 1 3/4" long, just under 1" high and 1" wide.   This size would be good for a floor basket filled with knitting supplies or magazines.

Next time I'll try it a bit smaller and add a bit more details, like the shading and handles in the tutorial.

This is my quick version of  a modern planter, it doesn't show well in this picture, it look better in real, really.

See the   tutorial  from Mini Dork at   Modern Mini Houses .

I used a small plastic bead tube and some dried grass from Dollar tree.  I sorted some of the smaller stones out of a package of chips but they are a bit too big.  I need to find some finer rocks so that more branches can fit in.

While I had the stones out, I picked out a few to use with a candle (a birthday cake candle).

Jaynie is happy with her new items.

Did you notice the carpet, that's new too, upholstery fabric from Joanne Fabrics.
What do you think?

Oops, I forgot to put the basket in the scene.

Jaynie was very happy when I came home with this giant bouquet of white carnations (imitation baby's breath in 1/1).  We have enough carnations to last a life time plus some to share.

Here is a close up of the little bunches of 3.

Would you like to win a dozen carnations, sign up for  My Give-Away .

If you are already signed up leave a comment here if you would like these as part of your prize if you win.

Here is one of the carnations in a bud vase (stone bead)

Let me know if you would like this vase, I also have some that are a bit greener and some more yellow.

And a couple more stone bead vases.

I reamed out the orange-y one, now it looks more like a vase and holds more flowers.

The grey one is not reamed, I started it but its a lot harder than the other one.

Would you like one of these?

Please let me know what you like.

The chair and pillows were a swap gift from Cyd of  Mini Mod Pod .

Jaynie has a new scarf

Or 2,               maybe 3 or 4.

Before we are done it may be a dozen or more.

What do you think?  How do they look?

Which do you like best?

I found this yarn at Michaels, they also had it at Joanne's.

I immediately saw scarves for Jaynie.

They had other colors, I may need to go back and buy more.

These were the easiest thing ever,  just cut a length of yarn.

I like the mix of grey and maroon, I need to cut another scarf.

I'm thinking that it my make a good throw blanket by sewing strips together.

This is what it looks like streched out.

I think that it may look nice stretched over a solid color pillow, maybe even plain muslin.

You can see the silver thread along the edge better in the maroon color, it adds just a bit of sparkle to the scarfs

Would you like some of this in you gift package if you win  my give-away.

I sorted through some pieces of lace, I found some doilies and a heart border.

Would you like to have any of these?

My heart and thoughts are with everyone effected by the bombings at the Boston Marathon on Monday.   Many will have long recoveries, some will never recover.  Many are tramatized and will never forget what they saw.  Many have had losses that will be so very hard to bear.  Many also have many hours of work ahead helping in the recoveries.  Please put them in your thoughts and prayers, they will need them all.

A Sad Day

Violence has hit New England again, this time very close to home, only about 30 minutes away.  Yesterday many people were injured or killed by terrorists during the Boston Marathon.

I'm having a hard time concentrating on much today, I'm just too sad.

I'm going to go try to quiet  my mind drawing some zentangles, that has not been easy today.

I'm hoping that I will feel better tomorrow and will be able to show you more of the things that I've sorted, that you could win from my give-away.

 Thank you for visiting, Mary

Give-Away Time

Today would have been my mother's 78th birthday.

My mom enjoyed hearing about my new friends all around the world and the minis they were working on.   She loved seeing all the gifts that you have so generously shared with me.

So it seemed like a perfect time to offer you a chance to win a gift in her honor.

Rules:
1.  Be a follower of this blog or M's Lists or become a follower of this blog.
2.  Leave a comment on this post on or before May 11,  I'll draw a winner May 12, Mother's day.

If you win I'll put together a special package just for you.

I've been trying to organize all my little things,
I've collected quite a few porcelain beads that I think work as vases.

Mom liked seeing my little finds.

Would you like some little vases?
Which ones do you like best?

Maybe these 3 little mice will be part of the prize or the cat, butterfly or (I think that's) a cow.

Which ones would you like to win?

If you win you can have a little silver frame, if you like.

I'll show you more of the things that you can choose from as I sort through things, let me know what you like.

I think that's it,  let me know if I forgot anything or if you have any questions.

Thank you for visiting, Mary
