My Loft Kit Has Arrived

I recieved my order from  Miniatures.com  yesterday afternoon.

I bought the  MiniTown Loft Kit  ,  the  Components set  and the  Single French Door

I think that this has to be one of the easiest house kits to construct.  There are only 7 pieces, including the dowel loft support, to be put together.  It has a groove construction, everything fits together very easily.  There are only 4 steps in the assembly instructions.   I'm glad that I bought the components set and the door,  I don't want to learn how to build and fit windows and doors as part of this project.  I'm not sure if I will use the stairs from the set, I may try to build a spiral staircase.  I think that a spiral staircase would fit the small space well.  I'm really not sure yet, there are so many decisions to be made.  I think that there are more than when we built our real house. 

Then I bought a few supplies

Museum Wax   I need this to tack down all of Jaynie's vases and things. 
Grandmother Stover's Glue   It says that it is the same as Yes glue,  I'm going to try it for making books.
Lycopodium  This is a big package.    I had bought a small package from some where else and I really like it.   I want to make a few Christmas trees, this package will be plenty and I will have lots left for plants.  The piece in the picture is only a small portion of the package.

And some plastic sheets

White Small Hexagon tile      I think this would be good for lots different tiling needs.  This comes in a large   11 x 17" sheet.   I think I may try painting it for backsplash tile in the kitchen.
1/4" Square Clear tile     A  7 x 12" sheet.
Rippled Water     A   7 x  12" sheet.

I really like these but not sure how I will use them.   I may save a piece of each to use to texture clay.

I also bought some electrical supplies but I'm not sure if I'll use them on this project.  I could not resist buying them while I was getting 20% off my first order.

I bought a few miniatures, some that I really like and  some that I was really dissapionted in the size.  I really should know better by now not to buy miniature if the measurements or materials are not listed.  I'll try to get pictures to show you tomorrow.

Organizing and Plant Making Supplies

I thought that I would show you some of the things that I've bought at the Dollar Tree lately.

A couple of office supplies, these will hold some of my clay tools and texturing sheets.

Some baskets,  I like having a pile of baskets to gather the supplies to use for a project or to sort things that need to be put away.  They are helping alot while I'm trying to get stuff shifted around.

I like these baskets because they fold up or stack together when not being used,  and it's even better when the folded ones fit into the stacked ones.   I think the price was right also, $1 each.

 Then a few things that I think will make good plants.

The bunch has 6 branches  (3 shown) in  3 shades of green.    I think 5 or 6 of these leaves in a pot will make a good plant.

Poke the picture to see the texture of the leaves better.

I'm not sure what kind of plant this will become but looked interesting to me.  I really like the yellow pompom flowers and the spikey leaves.

And a bunch with lots of red, orange and yellow styrofoam balls.   Most of these that I find are usually pink, purple or blue.  This is the first that I've found in the more useful colors.









Now I have to get back to organizing before I can play with the plant making supplies.

The Coupons Made Me Do It

I took another trip to Michael’s, I had a 20% off the entire order coupon and there where lots of little things needed/wanted (that’s a hard line to draw). I didn’t get much to show, some paint, some wire and a few hutches (they have been hard to get lately). The one little thing that I did want to show you are packages of flocking.

These were in the $ 1 bin, there are 4 colors in each package. They had them in many different colors. Each color is in a reusable little container that I may like more than the flocking itself.  I may move some of the flocking into bags and see what I can use the containers for. LOL.

I have made a few trips to Michael’s lately, I have a hard time resisting the 50% off coupons. I’ve wanted a better clay extruder for a while, the one I had was so hard to use. I bought the Walnut Hollow set. $ 24.99 reg. price - $ 12.50 with coupon. I also got another paper punch, saved $ 9 with a 50% off coupon.  Now I just have to find time to play with them.

Can you resist a deal?  If you do, do you feel sorry that you missed it later?

What else I bought

 I showed you the punches that I bought, every thing else I found on clearance. A block of Sculpey III (sweet potato) for $ .99,

 a package of brads for $ 1.49, these look like jar lids to me. I need to go through my bead

supply and get out the glue. 

And last but not least bottles of tiny no-hole glass beads, 2 bottles in a pack for $ .99. I got silver, gold, red, green, and some mixed colors.

I promise I will show you some things that I’ve made or am making soon.

Just Playing

This is what I played with last night, after coming home from Michael’s .

                                         New Paper Punches

I had a 40% off coupon, so I went to buy a 1” scalloped circle punch (ek success) that I’ve been wanting to make paper doilies.   I found that it was already on sale at 40% off. Yay.

I could use the coupon on something else.  I chose the Martha Stewart edge punch Stars.  

Joann of http://joannswansondiyminiatures.blogspot.com /  used this punch for forsythia branches in her Easter peddlers cart.  I think it will have lots of uses

Then I also got a ek success edger punch - card suits -- it was on clearance.

I hope you enjoy seeing what I bought as much as I enjoy seeing what supplies and tools you are using and buying. I’ll show the rest of what I bought later.
